NFL, Microsoft broaden partnership to put Copilot on sidelines and beyond

The National Football League and Microsoft have announced a multi-year extension of their strategic partnership, marking a significant step forward in applying artificial intelligence throughout the league. Leveraging tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Azure AI, the NFL and its teams aim to improve sideline analysis, optimize scouting processes, and streamline stadium operations.

With 30 venues hosting more than 330 events annually and attracting hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide, the NFL is among the most prominent sports organizations on the planet. By embedding Microsoft’s AI-powered cloud solutions into gameday operations and beyond, coaches and players will gain real-time access to performance insights, enabling faster, data-driven decisions tailored to their needs.

“We’re entering a new phase of technological advancement within the NFL through our expanded collaboration with Microsoft,” said NFL CIO Gary Brantley. “Elevating every aspect of the league is a mission we take very seriously, and Microsoft has been a reliable technology partner on the sidelines for over ten years. With innovations like Copilot, we see enormous potential to enhance gameday experiences for teams and deliver an even better product to our fans.”
