Organizers of the upcoming Women’s Rugby World Cup believe that next month’s final at Twickenham will set a new benchmark for attendance at a women’s rugby match.
Scheduled for Saturday, September 27, the game is already sold out, with around 82,000 fans expected to pack Allianz Stadium in south-west London.
The standing record for a women’s 15-a-side match is 58,498, achieved when England sealed the 2023 Six Nations Grand Slam with a 38-33 victory over France at Twickenham.
